The article discusses the development of renewable sources of electricity in the Mazovia region. The analysis focuses on the 2007–2017 period, making use of an updated 2014 study by the Mazovian Office for Regional Planning – Rozwój energetyki opartej na źródłach odnawialnych w województwie mazowieckim – stan i wyzwania [The development of renewable energy sources in Mazovia – achievements and challenges].

Participation is an indispensable element of the development and implementation of revitalisation programmes. It allows for a correct diagnosis of problems and for the development of revitalisation projects that will aim at solving them. The implementation of the Revitalisation Act in Poland obliged local governments to involve stakeholders more actively in the process of preparation and implementation of revitalisation programmes. The Act guarantees participation at every key stage of the process. In current Polish circumstances this is a change in the right direction, as such participation was not always ensured in previous financial perspectives.

The purpose of the article is to assess the degree to which the implemented road construction projects contributed to the strengthening of the polycentric pattern of the Polish region of Mazovia (Mazowieckie voivodeship). The investigations conducted may also enable a broader consideration of the effectiveness of transport policy in the context of the most important spatial policy and territorial cohesion objectives of the EU. The spatial scope of the research encompasses the region of Mazovia, but the analyses performed also referto the entire country. The analysis carried out had a dynamical character and concerns the period between 2007 and 2017.

LAirA (Landside Airports Accessibility – Dostępność lądowa lotnisk) to projekt realizowany od maja 2017 r. w ramach programu Interreg Europa Środkowa. Jednym z partnerów projektu jest Samorząd Województwa Mazowieckiego, którego Zarząd powierzył realizację projektu Mazowieckiemu Biuru Planowania Regionalnego. Projekt LAirA skupia się na wyzwaniach związanych z zapewnieniem multimodalnej dostępności lądowej lotnisk Europy Środkowej, tak by stanowiły one element zintegrowanego, inteligentnego i niskoemisyjnego systemu transportowego.

The international NSB CoRe (North Sea Baltic Connector of Regions) project is implemented under the Interreg Baltic Sea Region program. The project concerns the Trans-European Transport Corridor KI (TEN-T) North Sea-Baltic Sea, a key element of which is the Baltic Railway – Rail Baltica, connecting the Baltic countries with the rest of the EU.

The purpose of the article is to review the development policy of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship over the last twenty years. The article discusses the reform of the administrative division of Poland introduced at the turn of 1998 and 1999, as well as the legislative changes determining the scope of competencies of the provincial government in conducting development policy. Then the integrated development policy implemented in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship is presented horizontally (integration of strategic and planning documents) and historically (consistency in setting and implementing development goals).

Socio-economic development increasingly requires correcting the interpretation of property rights in the direction of restricting the owner in its exercise. Property is not an absolute subjective right, but a social function, and the limits of the right to property are set by laws and principles of social (interest). The right to property ownership plays a special role with regard to urban planning on a macro scale and on the scale of individual investments, as it is an immanent part of the economic consequences.
