Over the past decade or so, increasing importance in the development of cities, including in the shaping of their public spaces, has been attributed to the creative sector, which consists of activities based on individual creativity and talent. The activities of creative companies have a growing share in generating income for cities, and also account for their investment and settlement attractiveness. The development of the creative sector is associated with the presence of the so-called creative class, which in turn is a mobile class seeking attractive working and living conditions.

Support programs, directed to municipalities in Poland, concern many spheres of public life. One of them is the social activity of residents – an important factor from the point of view of mobilizing the endogenous development capital of municipalities. Social activity manifests itself and is simultaneously strengthened by non-governmental organizations – organizations of the so-called third sector. The article presents the specifics of non-governmental organizations in rural areas of the Lodz Voivodeship and the changes in their functioning that have occurred due to the participation of municipalities in the Post-Accession Rural Support Program (RDP).

This article is devoted to the issue of shaping a positive image of the Piaseczno suburban municipality, which is beginning to be affected by developmental problems, manifested in the increasing tendency of residents, especially the young, to move to Warsaw. The inconveniences of daily life in chaotically developed towns, with underdeveloped transport infrastructure, congested access roads to Warsaw, and an insufficient number of recreational and leisure places, have caused residents to increasingly disapprove of the municipality in which they live.

Their course is not identical in intensity and direction in its various districts. The purpose of this article is to show these differences and to distinguish the districts of Warsaw where these changes have taken a similar course.

The article includes part of the results of the research conducted within the framework of the project “Infrastructural development and physical capital and polycentricity of Mazovia’s development” (Development trends of Mazovia). Mazovia is characterized by the strongest spatial differentiation in the country, both in terms of economic development and infrastructural development. The averaged values of indicators are most often a resultant of the situation in the capital region and outlying areas. For this reason, the study of transport infrastructure was carried out in the article in a comprehensive manner.
