Many large cities have road bypass systems, consisting of at least one outer ring road, most often implemented to highway standard. According to the current National Roads Construction Program (PBDK), the construction of an inner express bypass of Warsaw (EOW) should be completed by the end of 2025, after which the construction of an outer highway bypass with a route pre-determined in the Concept for Spatial Development of the Country (KPZK 2030) could proceed. However, many specialists are not convinced of the need to build such a highway bypass of Warsaw (AOW).
